Boneyard — Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 26, 2026 · Publisher: MinMax Strategies LLC (Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA)
Who this covers
This policy applies to the Boneyard mobile application ("the app") published by MinMax Strategies LLC ("we," "us"). By using the app you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
None is sent to us. The app does not request the Internet permission and has no server, so it cannot and does not transmit your information anywhere. We have no way to see, receive, or store your data. We do not use analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or any third-party SDK that collects data.
Information stored on your device
The app saves the following locally, on your device only, so it can function offline:
- Content you create: bookmarks, blood-trail recovery sessions, season-log ("Boneyard") entries, trail-cam log entries (notes, tags, and references to photos you pick — the photos themselves stay in your gallery), countdowns, and saved Setup Planner maps.
- Optional GPS coordinates of blood-trail markers and planner points, when you choose to record them.
- App preferences (theme, text size, night mode).
This data never leaves your device unless you deliberately export or share it (see "Sharing" below). Uninstalling the app permanently deletes it.
Permissions and why they're used
- Location (approximate & precise) — optional. Used only to drop GPS markers while tracking a blood trail and to place points in the Setup Planner. Location is read from the device's satellite (GNSS) sensor, used on the spot, and stored only on your device. It is never transmitted or shared, and the app works without granting it.
- Notifications — used only to alert you when a recovery wait-timer elapses. No network is involved.
- Quick Settings tile — a system feature to open the recovery tool from the notification shade.
Sharing
The Setup Planner lets you export an image of your plotted map and share it through your device's standard share sheet. This only happens when you tap Share and choose a destination yourself. The image is created on your device and handed to the app you select; we do not receive it and are not involved in the transfer.
Settings also offers an "Export my data" option that writes your journal, recovery, trail-cam, planner, and countdown entries to a plain-text file at a location you choose on your device. The file is created on your device and saved only where you put it; we do not receive it and are not involved.
Children
Boneyard is intended for users age 13 and older and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Data security & retention
Because your data stays on your device, its security is governed by your device's own protections. We retain nothing on our end. You control retention by deleting entries in the app or uninstalling it.
Your choices
You can decline or revoke the location permission at any time in your device settings; the app continues to work without it. You can delete any saved item within the app, or remove all app data by uninstalling.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and post the revised policy at this URL.
