Boneyard — Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 27, 2026 · Publisher: MinMax Strategies LLC (Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA)

The short version. Boneyard works entirely offline and keeps everything on your phone. We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal information. The app has no internet permission, no server, no account, no ads, and no analytics or third-party tracking. Everything you do in the app stays on your device.

Who this covers

This policy applies to the Boneyard mobile application ("the app") published by MinMax Strategies LLC ("we," "us"), and to this website (see "This website" below). By using the app or the site you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

None is sent to us. The app does not request the Internet permission and has no server, so it cannot and does not transmit your information anywhere. We have no way to see, receive, or store your data. We do not use analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or any third-party SDK that collects data.

Information stored on your device

The app saves the following locally, on your device only, so it can function offline:

This data never leaves your device unless you deliberately export or share it (see "Sharing" below). Uninstalling the app permanently deletes it.

Permissions and why they're used

Voice search

The search screen offers a microphone button that opens your device's built-in speech recognizer through the standard Android voice-input intent, asking it to prefer on-device recognition. Boneyard has no microphone permission and never records or receives audio — the recognizer is a separate app operated by your device maker or Google under its own privacy policy, and on some devices it may process audio off-device. If you prefer, type your search instead.

App updates

App updates are delivered by Google Play. The Play Store app on your device may check for and install updates like it does for any app; that process is operated by Google and governed by Google's own privacy policy, not this one.

Sharing

The Setup Planner lets you export an image of your plotted map and share it through your device's standard share sheet. This only happens when you tap Share and choose a destination yourself. The image is created on your device and handed to the app you select; we do not receive it and are not involved in the transfer.

Settings also offers an "Export my data" option that writes your journal, recovery, trail-cam, planner, and countdown entries to a plain-text file at a location you choose on your device. The file is created on your device and saved only where you put it; we do not receive it and are not involved.

This website

The boneyardhunting.com website is a static site with no cookies, no analytics, and no ads. One exception applies: if you choose to join the release waitlist, we receive and store the email address you enter, along with the time you submitted it, the page you submitted it from, and your browser's user-agent string. We keep that information in a private spreadsheet, use it only to send Boneyard release news, and never sell or share it. Your browser may also remember locally, on your device only, that you already signed up so the form doesn't ask again. To have your address deleted, email info@boneyardhunting.com.

Children's privacy

Boneyard is a hunting reference intended for users 13 and older and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

Data security & retention

Because your data stays on your device, its security is governed by your device's own protections. We retain nothing on our end. You control retention by deleting entries in the app or uninstalling it.

Your choices

You can decline or revoke the location permission at any time in your device settings; the app continues to work without it. You can delete any saved item within the app, or remove all app data by uninstalling.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new effective date.
